Seminar Highlights

One-Day Seminar or Two: It’s Your Choice

All Aboard! This TRAIN is leaving the station, and everyone had better be onboard!

This is 5.5 hours of affordable realtime training taught in a fun, comfortable setting.

NCRA board members Chris Willette from Wisconsin and Atlanta’s own Heidi Thomas will be our TRAIN Conductors for Machine TRAIN Tracks 1 through 3. Joining them to teach the voice breakout portion of our program will be Realtime Verbatim Reporter Diane Gaffoglio. She will be the Conductor for Voice TRAIN Tracks 1 through 3. You can be sure that all attendees are in the best possible hands when it comes to learning how to advance your individual skill sets moving forward! These are sessions you don’t want to miss!

GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS AND LOBBYING have been at the forefront this year for freelance reporters. The last session of Georgia’s General Assembly certainly proves that point! That’s why we’re kicking off the seminar with Brad Carver, court reporter lobbyist. He’ll help explain how we navigated through this last legislative session and answer any questions from the audience. Brad will also be addressing official court reporters about the Committee on Court Reporting Matters’ report and recommendations regarding the official fee schedule that will have been published to the Judicial Council of Georgia just prior to our seminar. We’ll discuss what’s ahead of us during this next legislative session.

ANTI-CONTRACTING & GIFTING expert Lisa Migliore, founder of Save Our Court Records, which is an organization that shares free marketing and educational materials with court reporters who uphold the highest degree of integrity in their business practices, she will share her expertise and insight with freelance reporters in Georgia.

NEW RULES AND REGULATIONS will be shared with attendees by the Georgia Board of Court Reporting. This is the perfect opportunity to speak with board members and learn what new changes will need to be implemented within your profession.

Time to Relax Saturday Evening

At the conclusion of the day’s instruction, we invite everyone out on the lawn to kick off a relaxing evening full of fun and fellowship. We’ll first join our Georgia Firm Owners and thank them for their generous contribution to this year’s seminar. Cocktails and delicious hors d’oeuvres will be served. Relax and enjoy the company of friends, and enjoy the evening while jazz quartet Jules and the Gents fill the night with music. Saturday Night Dinner is optional and we enthusiastically invite you to join us for dinner. Villa Christina offers beautiful food with bold, simple flavors emphasizing the season's finest ingredients.

Listen to the old school Jazz and Swing of Jules and the Gents on MySpace:

What is new and upcoming for Georgia's Shorthand Reporters? Keep your training up to date with hands-on machine and voice realtime tracks. Our highly qualified and professional speakers will provide you with the essentials of your profession.
